Pay attention to the people in your world and how they show you that they love you. It doesn't have to be through a Valentine! Do they listen to you when you have had a hard day, do they give you a hug, do they let you have the last bite of chocolate cake, do they text you for no reason... I'm not talking about just romantic love, do your friends and family do little things to show you that they love you? My 26 year old twins text me and call me all of the time. One of them is so excited that she is coming out to Maui to visit me for her spring break! The other one tells me that she is proud of me all of the time! I am so grateful for their love every day! I of course am grateful for the love from my other children as well. But when I was 26 I don't think that I showed my mother in as many ways that I loved her. When I was older and younger I did, but not at 26. So pay attention to the non verbal ways that people and, of course, animals express this love for you and take it in! How do you show others that you love them? It is time to be consciously loving and consciously loved. Start with this month and then make it an ongoing habit. I recently watched a friend give a speech and was aware of the "even better" part. I asked her if I could give her some feed back and she said "yes." I then "watched" myself give her at least three things she did well first. I also "watched" as her whole being softened as welcomed being seen for a job well done. It was easy for her to take one piece of "even better" and incorporate it into her presentation. She came back to me later and shared how she was improving her talk. I was grateful to realize how this simple and very effective tool had grown to be a first response over what could have been a "well meaning" critique that might not have been received as such!
